COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is aimed at qualitative improvement of professional competences within the framework of the existing qualification, that are sufficient for performing the following types of professional activities:
- interpretation and evaluation of preoperative examination results of patients with chiasmo-sellar region pathology
- determination of indications and contraindications to the endonasal endoscopic accesses for chiasmo-sellar pathology
- preoperative planning and intraoperative use of frameless neuronavigation system in endonasal endoscopic surgery in case of chiasmo-sellar region pathology
- mastering endonasal endoscopic accesses and stages of surgical removal of chiasmo-sellar tumours
- use of intraoperative Doppler control during removal of chiasmal-sellar tumours by endonasal accesses
- introduction to particular features of the postoperative period and patient management after endonasal endoscopic interventions
Acquired competencies can be applied in the field of therapeutic and diagnostic processes in neurosurgical diseases, as well as at the crossroads of ENT and head-neck specialties.
